Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals come with a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your responsibilities for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Requirements with Paisley
- To hire a vehicle from Paisley, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 might incur additional fees. A valid driving licence, suitable for the vehicle category, is required and must be held for the period stated in the Rental Agreement. Identification and proof of your current address must be provided, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Any further criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, with secure processing handled by trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, please conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document this. It is required that you return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, aside from normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges will be applied as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please reach out to us as soon as possible if you anticipate returning the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every rental through Paisley. You can find comprehensive coverage details and any applicable excess amounts in the Rental Agreement. Optional insurance packages may be offered to help lower your financial liability. It's advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will remain your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could lead to additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. Engaging in racing, off-roading, or other risky behaviors is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, and all passenger and weight limits must be adhered to. Operating outside designated geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Paisley Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or business data, related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Terms Updates
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately once posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
