Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations concerning the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with Paisley:
- To rent a vehicle from Paisley, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. A valid full driving license for the appropriate vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of residence. Drivers must present valid payment details and a security deposit. Additional criteria may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. The full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle collection. All pricing is listed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, please conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed by both parties. It is important to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level; charges will apply for refueling if the level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with a processing fee.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals from Paisley include basic third-party insurance. You can find comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lessen your financial liability. It is beneficial to consider these options thoroughly. You remain accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further insurance is acquired. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous pursuits is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must only be used for its intended purpose, and all passenger and weight limits must be adhered to. Driving beyond the agreed geographical limits requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Limitations on Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Paisley Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may result from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liabilities for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the local courts.
